My issue with pro-life/pro-immigrant Catholics [this is no pomo’s most popular post in its short 9 month history]
My follow up piece about why you shouldn’t endorse shifty/morally questionable arguments to further your cause, and should be willing to call out people on “your side” when they are wrong, like Paglia does with pro-choice feminists…and like I do with obnoxious pro-lifers and globohomo-pilled pro-immigrant people
From the archive
A lot of you are like, “oh, you’re criticizing the zoomer trads too much!!! You’re so judgmental and uncharitable!” And I’m like, “umm…where were you when I wrote stuff defending both zoomers and trads? Why weren’t you thanking me back then??” If I’ve defended the virtues of zoomers and trads, I’ve earned the right to criticize their vices as well. Thus, I’m linking to my two pieces in National Catholic Reporter in which I defended trad caths during a time when all the libs were ganging up on them. Here’s the first one about why I love TLM and the second about how TLM makes aspergians and queers feel more at home than Novus Ordo. And I’m linking to the 2 Substack pieces where I defended zoomer irony and about why zoomers are better than millennials.
Since I risked writing about ab*rtion in no pomo, I thought I’d link back to our pod ep with the great Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa after Dobbs. If you don’t follow Destiny and/or New Wave Feminists, I don’t know what you’re waiting for. But she is one of our fav friends of pomo.
