Those already steeped in cracks in pomo discourse know that while we are very pro-all things pop, we are not naive about the darker—even diabolical—dimensions of pop culture…especially of pop music.

I thought it would be fun to take up Pope Benedict’s [the postmodern pope] assertion that pop (and rock) music is “the devil’s work,” and that classical and folk music are much more wholesome.
