*I mean it literally [also as a figure of speech tho]
After long await, here’s the piece on the “new ex-gay”:
I recently spoke to several men and women in their 20s and 30s who are turned off by both the “born this way” account of identity and by conversion therapy. These people all thought of themselves as exclusively gay during their early adolescence, but have since then developed attraction to people of the opposite sex to varying degrees—and for varying reasons. Their stories don’t fit neatly into pre-existing ideological categories as they are resistant to—as one person put it—having “a label slapped on” their sexuality.
Thank you to everyone who shared their stories with me.

So the old statistic used to say that 1 in 10 people are gay. I think that originally came from a Kinsey study or something…then it came out that some gay rights lobbyists were paying researchers to hike up the number to further their cause.
But nowadays, it seems like way more than 1 in 10 are gay—or rather some type of queer. Especially if you’re in an elite/urban hub…seems like everyone is gay—if not sexually, then at least “spiritually” (interpret that however you wish).
Why is everyone turning gay?
