Voting for either of duopoly’s political party candidates who both support escalation of the War in Palestine, now Lebanon or voting for these nuclearist who both support largest buildup in nuclear weapons of by the so-called US “Defence” Department is unconscionable for all Christians.
I pray someday US Catholic Church is led by Christian men like Bishops Hunthausen or Saint Oscar Romero and not “false apostles” like Dolan or Broglio.
Peter, please..... You do not understand Jesus Christ, who professed the inclusion of ALL in and through unconditional Love. I recommend that you re-read Matthew 25: 31-46 [The Judgment of the Nations] and spend some time in contemplation ... Lectio Divina, to understand where you stand in the Eyes of Christ. 45 He will answer them 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And, these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." You're a fool, Peter, convicting yourself by your thoughts, words, and deeds. Opinions are irrelevant in light of the Word of God. Check your lens. You are blinded by your EGO (Edging God Out). I pray that you will repent and turn back toward God.
I'm sorry but there wasn't the slightest bit of Catholic angst in the decision this election - providing you are speaking about actual Catholics. The false and dissenting "Catholics" had all the angst. In fact, it WASN'T that hard for us.
You are entitled to your opinion as is the author. Don’t presume to speak for other Catholics as you are accusing the author of doing. Some of us actually read the social teachings of the church and even if we didn’t we can recognize the moral depravity promoted in the rhetoric of the person elected to be our “leader.”
With respect, Ma'am, it's kind of hard for a party whose leadership consists entirely of members of the Epstein and Diddy lists to accuse anyone else of "moral depravity." I've read the social teachings too, and I found nothing in them to cause the slightest bit of angst about Tuesday's choice. Please don't presume to speak for actual Catholics.
“Actual “ Catholics? Very presumptuous of you. Every baptized person is an “actual” Catholic. Gee I came to read Substack for substance and I nasty trolls are here too. Good day .
“The Lord looks on the righteous and the wicked;
the lover of violence he hates.
God sends fire and brimstone on the wicked,
a scorching wind to fill their cup.
Psalm 11.5
