So a lot of people I know who recently converted or reverted to Catholicism have expressed how difficult it is for them to find community. This is in part because the only place they know to go to is their local parish.

The sad reality is that most local parishes no longer provide people (especially those new to the faith) the means to live a vibrant life of faith. Surely, there are plenty of parishes that still offer a vibrant communal life and social events.1 But in terms of actually living Christianity, Catholic parishes—as well as most diocesan based schools, institutions, organizations, and ministries—have little to offer.
